# MCP trust score explained

A published point sum with factors — not a vibes rating.

## What the number is
A 0–100 composite from named factors (identity, maintenance, adoption). Every factor can appear in `trust_factors` on the API.

## What changed in v3.2
Uncorroborated identity rows are **capped**. Look-alike brand namespaces can be penalised. Self-attested publisher bios are not free points.

## How not to use it
- Do not sort solely by score and install #1 blindly.
- Do not treat 80 as “secure.”
- Do not ignore Official/Verified when they disagree with the number.
